Starting this year, Heimat Academy is launching a new collaboration with CasaOz, a Turin-based organisation that has long supported children, young people and families through programmes centred on care, relationships and everyday life.

As part of this collaboration, a body percussion and rhythm workshop will begin for children and young people.

The programme will use the body, movement, voice and percussion as tools to develop listening, coordination, self-expression and relationships with others.

The aim is not simply to “make music”, but to create an accessible and flexible space that can adapt to the characteristics of the group and to different ways of participating.

An important moment for CasaOz

This collaboration begins at a particularly significant time for CasaOz.

After two years of renovation work, the Molino di Cavoretto is coming back to life with new spaces dedicated to families, further expanding the opportunities for education, activities and community life.

Heimat will also take part in the public opening, sharing this important moment and the beginning of a new journey together.

The approach of Heimat Academy

Heimat Academy develops educational workshops and programmes in the fields of music, theatre, yoga, sport and awareness.

Each project is designed together with the organisations involved, adapting methods and tools to the people, spaces and educational goals of each context.

The collaboration with CasaOz reflects this approach very well: starting from an artistic language — in this case rhythm and body percussion — to create opportunities for participation, relationships and discovery.

During one of our preparatory meetings, we came across a sentence printed on a T-shirt:

“There’s no place as beautiful as home, but it takes courage to get there.”

It felt like a fitting way to describe the beginning of this new journey.
