Reloup: A Place Where Arriving is Simple

Getting to the mountains should be simple. Sitting down at the table should be, too.

In Isasca, at the heart of the Lower Varaita Valley and about an hour and a half from Turin, Reloup has been championing a philosophy of essential and practical hospitality since 2003: the mountains are not a privilege for the few, but an experience that must belong to everyone.

Anyone searching for a restaurant outside the city knows the feeling: obstacles aren't always visible on maps; they appear upon arrival. An unexpected step, an inaccessible restroom, or a menu with no alternatives. These small details add up to a silent message: "This place isn't for you."

At Reloup, we have chosen to flip this perspective, addressing these details one by one. Our goal isn't to create a "special" place, but a place that simply works.

Moving Freely, Without Asking Permission

Accessibility here isn't just a label; it is a daily practice. The entrance welcomes every guest with the same ease: alongside the steps, a permanent ramp allows smooth access for wheelchair users, those with limited mobility, or parents with strollers.

Inside, freedom of movement is guaranteed:

  • Fluid Spaces: Tables are arranged to allow easy movement, avoiding "tight squeezes" or forced maneuvers.

  • Real Autonomy: Restrooms are spacious and fully equipped for independent use.

  • No "Special Routes": There are no back entrances or makeshift solutions. The experience is identical for every guest.

Airy Rooms, Natural Light, a Sense of Home

The restaurant is divided into different yet connected spaces. The Main Hall, bright and overlooking the valley, accommodates up to 25 people. The Internal Room, more intimate and warmed by a pellet stove, offers that cozy, domestic atmosphere perfect for the colder months.

In the warmer season, the Dehors (outdoor seating) becomes our most precious space: immersed in the silence of the Varaita Valley, it is a spot designed for staying, not just passing through.

A Kitchen That Listens Before It Serves

Our culinary offerings are rooted in Piedmontese tradition, yet we remain constantly attentive to contemporary needs. Our menu is not a rigid script; it is a dialogue.

Allergies, intolerances, or dietary choices are never treated as "exceptions" or "problems to be solved," but as an integral part of our culinary identity:

  • The Territory on Your Plate: From selected Venasca cold cuts to local tomini cheeses, all the way to our iconic Ravioles della Valle Varaita (handmade potato gnocchi prepared with local Toma cheese).

  • Seasonality and Memory: Classic dishes like Bagna Caoda, tripe, and pork tenderloin cooked with local Kauss craft beer.

  • Desserts for Everyone: Alongside the traditional Bonèt, we offer plant-based alternatives like almond pudding, ensuring the dessert course is a shared pleasure.

A Possible Escape (Without Negotiating the Details)

For those leaving Turin in search of a mountain refuge, Reloup offers a certainty: a place where barriers—whether architectural or dietary—never become a topic of discussion because they have already been addressed at the root.

True hospitality works like this: it welcomes you without needing to explain itself, making you feel you're in the right place without ever having to ask for space.
